Living on Campus
Living in the residence halls during the Highlander Early Start Academy enhances your experience by the presence of trained live-in staff, access to study lounges and computer labs, and educational, social, cultural and recreational activities that complement your classroom experiences. Get to know other students that will become fellow classmates (and possible hall mates) in the fall.
Living on campus is highly recommended for all participants, but is not mandatory.
Move In
The housing move-in date is Sunday, July 28th and the first meal is dinner. The HESA Residence Life staff looks forward to meeting you!

If you have submitted a 2024-2025 Academic Year Housing Contract, and you have received confirmation on your housing assignment status, you will be able to return on September 20th to move into your permanent residence hall room.
Eligibility
All Highlander Early Start Academy participants are eligible to live on campus during the program.
Residence Life
Students living in the residence halls during Highlander Early Start Academy have the benefit of getting a preview of what life in the residence halls will be like during the academic year. Residence Life staff provide a number of social, educational, and academic programs that are designed to complement and heighten your experience. In addition, every community in the hall is assigned a Resident Advisor or RA; RAs are trained peer leaders who are responsible for the floor and are there to assist with programming, community development and any issues that arise. Your RA will plan programs and events for the community in an effort for people to get out and get to know one another. Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities whenever possible.

How To Pay For Housing
Your housing fees may be covered by a financial aid package!
Qualified financial aid students will have their accounts credited to pay housing charges by the due date on the contract cover letter.
Students with a housing grant or students who are paying housing charges without financial aid should make payments as stated in the Summer Housing Contract.
- If you are paying by eCheck or credit card (Visa, American Express, DiscoverCard or Master Card), submit your contract and wait to make your first online payment until AFTER your Summer Housing charge appears on your R'Web account. A non-refundable convenience fee will be charged. No credit card payments can be accepted at the Cashiers' Office.
- If you are paying by cashier's check or money order, submit the appropriate first payment to the following address:
UCR Main Cashiers Office
University of California
Student Services Bldg. Room 1111
900 University Avenue
Riverside, CA 92521
- If you are expecting "Summer Financial Aid" to pay for your Summer Housing, be sure to check the appropriate box in the Payment section so that we do not consider your lack of payment an incomplete.
